Radio Lounge Produces Radio Advertising For YMCA Houston Winter Advertising Campaign |
Winter is a somewhat magical time of year, where people gather with family and friends to discuss what they’ve accomplished and what their aspirations are for the upcoming year. Likewise, the YMCA Houston has aspirations and wanted to capture the magic and revitalizing nature of the New Year in its marketing efforts. Once again Radio Lounge was proud to be a part of the “Y”’s marketing strategy.At the start of the New Year, many people set goals that are focused around bettering themselves. Therefore, January is a significant month as Houstonians search for healthy options. One of the goals that the YMCA Houston set was to drive this increase of new membership sales by offering a financial incentive known as “Pay the Day”, lasting from January 1st to January 31, 2010. “Pay the Day” is a cleverly designed promotion that bases the joining fee on the date of the month. For example, if one was to join on January 6th, then their joining fee would be $6.00. To help achieve this goal, the YMCA Houston sought out Radio Lounge to create and produce their winter campaign. Another goal of the winter advertising campaign was to create awareness and attract people to the YMCA Houston Open House. The YMCA Houston Open House, to be held in January, is an event that showcases all of the services that they provide and their involvement in the community as well as to promote health & fitness as a way to stimulate new member enrollment. Over the course of several years, Radio Lounge has worked with Mike Hagan, VP Branding & Member Experience, to help with the development of many radio advertising campaigns. The concept that the YMCA Houston wanted to communicate to prospective members was that every member can make the decision start developing healthy habits today, and the YMCA Houston will help you get started. The creative of the campaign was, “You can be (healthy, happy, fit, etc.) today”, which incorporated real members with real stories of how they wanted to be something, and how they made it happen. Each radio spot prompts listeners to visit www.trytheymca.org so they can make today the day that they decide to better themselves. Interestingly, the YMCA Houston seeks to provide affordable membership rates that are available to families of all income levels regardless of the performance of the economy. Being flexible and willing to work with its customers shows just how dedicated the YMCA Houston is to promoting healthy lifestyles and providing a means for people to achieve their goals.
